Desertion is the fourth single by Rough Mango. Written in 1992 by Alessando Valério Dias and Christian Bezerra, with an initial arrangement created by Leandro Keko Rodrigues and Alessandro and adjusted by Ricardo Sensever and Christian in 2024.

The recording took place between July and December 2024 at Christian Bezerra’s home studio, where the bass, some guitars and backing vocals were recorded, and at Buzzin’ Tentacles Studio in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where the drums, vocals and guitar overdubs were recorded, as well as the effects used in the song, mixed and mastered by Ricardo Sensever.

Desertion is a reflection on the losses that all wars cause, the loss of innocence and humanity of those who were placed in this situation.

In a world where wars appear on all sides and millions of innocent people are affected, this song is our desperate cry for peace!
